The New Zealand Temple and General Conference

We spent the week getting organized both in the office and at home.  Gary says it is like having a real job.  We also practiced driving on the left side of the road, went grocery shopping and started to get a routine going.

Saturday we drove south with some new friends to Hamilton, NZ (about 2 hours from us) and attended the New Zealand Temple.  We joined with others and participated in family sealings for our friends' ancestors.

We are learning the weather can change very quickly here.  When we got to the Temple it was very sunny with some wind.  When we came out 3 hours later, it was raining.

Sunday morning we arose early 4:45 AM.  This was so we could live-stream conference over the internet. We are 19 hours ahead of Utah (MDT).  Modern technology is so awesome.  We have enjoyed the 3 sessions we have been able to view so far (We are counting the General Women's Meeting last week too.)  Here in Auckland we had fast and testimony meeting today.  The General Women's Meeting was broadcast at local stake centers last night and conference will be broadcast next week on both Saturday and Sunday. Because we can watch conference live, we didn't want to wait a week to see it.  We have enjoyed having a good internet connection.

We attended our church meetings here at 1:00 PM Sunday New Zealand time.  (Saturday evening Priesthood Session was starting back home.)  After the meeting we were invited to teach the Gospel Principles class.  We will teach our first lesson on October 19th. We think that this will be a fun assignment.

Thus ends another week.  Tomorrow morning (Monday) when we get up to watch conference it will mark our two week anniversary.  What do we think of it so far?  WE LOVE IT HERE.  We can already see signs of why we were called to this part of the Lord's vineyard.  Hopefully we will be able to do our best.
